Taste of Charlotte

Last weekend was a delicious weekend to say the least.
Uptown Charlotte hosted the Taste of Charlotte Festival.
While several cities have such events, Charlotte proved to a little unique. Instead of the most exquisite delicacies from world renowned chefs who run the most amazing restaurants, we ate deep fried goodness that makes your mouth smile and your stomach a little weary. If you were wondering why people claim to gain weight while in the south, I will show you and you will understand.

First Course: Spicy Cajun Pulled Pork Sandwich
I could have eaten four more.

Second Course: Fish and Chips
Allen's excited appropriately depicted below.

Deep fried and delish.

Third Course: Honey BBQ ribs
The meat literally fell off the bone it was so moist.

Fourth Course: Sweet and Spicy Hot Dog
I really love hot dogs.

Fifth course: Waffle cup with Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream
Everything tastes better with sprinkles.

Sixth Course: Orange Sherbet
Allen really loves gummy bears.

Man over board.

I meant to say Allen REALLY loves gummy bears.

Seventh Course: Tuxedo Cupcake
Again with the sprinkles.

Things we ate that are not depicted in the above pictures:
Second cupcake
Cinnamon toasted cashews
Sprite to wash it all down

We were so full we could barely breathe.
It was truly a delicious evening.
Thank you Charlotte.

  1. makes me hungry.
i firmly believe that hot dogs are a major food group of their own. (especially when eaten at a ball game paired with beer. you can take my word on the last part)
there is a "taste of charlotte" cookbook. i smell a christmas gift...hint hint Allen.
    xo.
