We pretended Monday night was like a Friday night.
Maggiano's Little Italy was offering 50% off to teachers just for one night. I happen to know a few teachers. We doubled with Brett and Angie who are getting married this summer. Both are Teach for America teachers like Allen.
Did you know if you order a classic pasta from the menu at Maggiano's, you can order a SECOND pasta to take home? Instead of JUST sending you home with your left overs.... they make you a fresh plate of pasta as well! You can even pick a different kind! What a deal! So Allen and I got 4 plates of pasta for about $13. We have had pasta for dinner and lunch since then. No complaints from us.
After dinner we went to watch The Knights minor league baseball game. Brett played in the minor leagues for a few years and has some buddies on the team. I had NO idea that baseball was so complicated. Not just the game itself, but the politics surrounding the game. Brett was kind enough to explain how it all works. All I know is my baseball hat is off to those players. They really know what endurance and patience means.
Meet Brett and Angie.
They are pretty fantastic.
We are very excited for the summer that is ahead of them.
Weddings are great.
Weddings are great.
I think their wedding will be amazing.
Believe it or not, Allen has never tried Dippin Dots. Is he even American?
His first time around was pretty successful. He was a little anxious about how fast you needed to eat it. Once it melts it is no different than any other ice cream. I have a feeling he may be a repeat customer.
Angie introduced me to
The Funnel Cake.
Deep fried dough covered in sugar? Yes, I'll have a bite. Delish.
I think I will also be a repeat customer.
We had a great evening.
A great evening that made it hard to get up the next morning.
Totally worth it.
You'd never had funnel cake?? Ok, that's worse than never having dippin dots. And I am a huge fan of the dots.
