Since entering the corporate workplace I have noticed a generous practice among my fellow corporate drones. To ease the strain of deadlines and break up the monotony of off-white walls and piped in white noise, you will see the occasional Candy Bowl. What is a candy bowl? Just what you were thinking. A bowl filled with candy. Brightly colored candies spill over the top just waiting to unwrapped and enjoyed. These candy bowls are funded by a single member of the team. They so generously fill the candy bowl to lift the spirits of those around them.
"Feel free to take one."
"Please enjoy."
"Help yourself!"
Just the sight of said bowls makes me smile, however, I don't usually partake of the candy. The only reason for that is I don't particularly like candy. Gummies, hard candy, taffy, licorice, suckers, nougat, marshmallow... you get the picture. I don't like it. I blame my years of having braces. I learned to not eat the stuff that got stuck in them. I just don't love candy. I also don't have a hard time turning down candy bars. Snickers, Twix, Butterfingers, Milky Way, ect.
Eh, No thanks.
BUT TODAY...
A wonderful co-worker displayed a new kind of candy in her bowl.
OH sweet bliss. I put the whole chocolate in my mouth and close my eyes as it slowly to melts in my mouth.
As a friend once said, "It is like crack. Delicious, Delicious crack."
I had three today.
I am a happy girl.
